How do we register?
Register online at the Sanborn PTO website using paypal or paper forms along with a check (made payable to Sanborn Explorations - PTO) may be sent in to the office to the attention of Explorations.

What do course fees cover?
Explorations course fees cover instructor fee and materials cost.

How do we know if we are enrolled?
Your child IS ENROLLED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTIFIED. Courses that are under-subscribed will be cancelled and your money refunded. A lottery system will be used to choose participants in over-subscribed classes.

How will my child know where the class is held?
Class locations are announced to the children. As well a sign for parents will be posted at the school entrance the first day of the class. All those participating in afternoon classes must be signed out by a parent.


Should my child bring a snack?
We recommend you do send in a snack for your child to eat before course time. We ask that it be peanut-free.

Does the homeroom teacher need a note?
Yes! Whenever there is a change in your child’s after school routine a note is required. On the first day of your child’s class, be sure to send in a note indicating your child will be attending an Explorations course and informing your teacher the dates that apply.

What if my child will be absent from class?
Explorations instructors must account for each child enrolled in the class. If the child is absent from school, we will be notified by the nurse. However, if your child has a scheduling conflict and will not be attending a session, a note must be sent in to the office.

What happens if school is cancelled?
Classes will be postponed and made up at a future date:

  1. in the event of school cancellation
  2. in the event of a delayed morning opening
  3. in the event of an early afternoon dismissal

We are thrilled to offer an action-packed fall session of Explorations including opportunities for our Sanborn children to play, create, and learn. We are also excited to bring to you the opportunity to register online! Go to the Sanborn PTO website, fill out the online forms, and pay via pay pal. No paper necessary. We will still accept paper registration for those who prefer that method. You can print the two forms on the last pages of the brochure. Check should be made out to Sanborn PTO – Explorations and returned to the office along with the forms.

Please note that we are moving to streamline our system of fees. All classes (with the exception of Math Olympiad and Continental Math) will run for six weeks. Classes where no materials are required will be $50 and those that do need materials will be $65. Math Olympiad and Continental Math cost $125.

Deadline for registration is Wednesday, October 16. Late registrations will be accepted only if class space allows. To enroll in a class child must be in the grade level specified by the course description.

Classes begin the week of October 21. Please save the calendar as a helpful reminder. If a class is over-subscribed, a lottery system will be used to choose participants. If a class is under-subscribed, the course will be cancelled. All those affected will be notified and money refunded.
