***In Bottle Science, you will meet your miniature science lab – a soda pop bottle! Sizzle, bang, pop as you engage in experiments and projects that teach about weather, motion, and more. 2-3 DODGEBALL ~ Grades 2 and 3

Dodgeball isn’t just throwing balls at each other! Learn a variety of challenging but fun dodgeball game variations – Doctor Dodgeball, Thunder dome, Hector Protector, Capture the Flag Dodgeball. Duck, dodge and dive! Try to survive! Wear sneakers.

INTRO TO SPANISH ~ Grades 4 and 5

Meeting Day and Time: Tuesdays, 3:15 PM – 4:00 PM, 6 sessions

This introductory Spanish course is designed to give children a chance to immerse themselves in a foreign language by learning basic words and concepts before they move on to middle school. Children will learn vocabulary, grammar, and Spanish culture.

LEGO LEAGUE ~ Grades 1, 2, 3

Play as you learn, learn as you play! Students get lots of hands on time with basic and advanced Lego components. Create simple machines or make your own invention. Gears, pulleys, axles, motors and wheels are all part of the fun!

Math Olympiad is a competitive, national math program which gives 4th and 5th graders a chance to review math concepts and skills. These challenging word problems are an enriching activity which encourages student flexibility, and creativity in sharing strategies for problem solving. Samples may be found online at the Math Olympiad website. The program includes eleven practice sessions and five contests that provide an opportunity for students to test their math skills against students from across the United States and internationally. Top scorers in the school are awarded prizes. Math Olympiad runs from October through March. Enrollment for the entire course is limited to fall registration only.

Continental Math League is a wonderful opportunity for children to “improve their reading comprehension and problem solving skills.” This national program is in its 37th year of providing supplement to school programs. There are three “Meets” that the children will participate in later in the school year. Continental Math runs from November through March. Enrollment for the entire course is limited to fall registration only.

MATH AND MUFFINS ~ Grade 4

Do you enjoy getting to do hands on math activities? How about working with a partner or group to solve challenging problems? Join us for Math and Muffins where our small group will dive into some 4th grade math problems, projects, and games. This is a stress-free opportunity to practice and learn new math strategies.

Discover how ordinary materials can be used in extraordinary ways! Why do you sometimes see a spark when you walk on a carpet and then touch a doorknob? Can you use soap to power a boat? Is green really green? Try simple experiments using everyday materials to answer these questions and MORE! We will put science to work in ways that might seem impossible.
